"Cruise On In !"

England’s most northerly town Berwick-upon-Tweed is delighted to welcome cruise ship passengers for the first time in its history.

Port staff and harbour commissioners are excited to greet travellers from all over the United Kingdom to our newly refurbished jetty.

Once ashore travellers will have a plethora of historic attractions and beautiful areas to visit all of which can be easily accessed by coach, rail, taxi or on foot.

The town itself has an abundance of attractions including an English Heritage Museum, the complete Elizabethan Walls, a cinema and arts complex and a leisure centre. There is also a wide variety of shops cafés and pubs where visitors can while away the day.

Further afield the Chain Bridge Honey Farm has super little museum while nearby Paxton House has an astonishing collection of Chippendale furniture, a picture gallery featuring local artists as well as fabulous grounds.

For those who want to venture further Alnwick Castle is a short coach ride away as is the hauntingly beautiful Holy Island of Lindisfarne. And let's not forget Bamburgh Castle which dates back to the sixth century.

Or perhaps visitors will prefer to just take a long walk on one of our beautiful beaches where you may spot our resident seals and dolphins, perhaps follow the Lowry Trail through town and up to Spittal or just sit and admire the beautiful view from our superb location.

Here at Port of Berwick we are gearing up for the arrival of our yachtsmen and women friends. We are looking forward to seeing some old visitors and hopefully some new faces. Yachts are welcome throughout the Spring, summer and early autumn months.

Last year many beautiful craft visited us and enjoyed our stunning location set on the south bank of the River Tweed.

We offer a friendly and hospitable mooring point for all visitors. With easy access to shops, banks, pubs and cafes there is everything close by our traveller friends might need.

Whether you just want to sit on the pontoon and enjoy a glass of champagne or take a walk around the historic walls the choice is yours.

We look forward to welcoming you all.
